Total of 6 students from Wright State University had 3 weeks of study abroad program in Preventive health, Rural health and Ayurveda. They visited Niloufer Children’s hospital, Indo-Us Cancer hospital to experience medical care. Faculty from Wright State University Dr. Diane Imbrogno accompanied students to Hyderabad, India. Dr. Imbrogno conducted free medical camps in addition to involving in teaching medical students at the same time with the help of local doctors. |

Maithri is sponsoring first set of students to Hyderabad, India from Wright State university in July 2006. Students will have opportunity to study & see patients at Indo—US cancer hospital and attend medical camps in rural areas in AP state. The medical camps are sponsored by Red Cross society in Hyderabad, India. Flourosis which was diagnosed in January 2006 camp has been addressed by department of preventive health by government of India.This is the first step towards the eradication of flourosis in AP state. Established centers in Hyderabad, India to promote Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation along with research segments. |

FREE MEDICAL CAMPS A mega medical camp was held in January 2006 in memory of Dr. Saraswathi Kalvakota’s father late Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao, former Prime Minister of India. Approximately 6000 villagers were benefited from this camp. Maithri delivered free check ups, investigations and medicines. This camp was a huge success with the help of 80 doctors and 200 volunteers who donated their time. |
